Viscosity

Motif Fledgling - an
accessory to the murals,
the portraits, & the
backgrounds of culture.

Flightless, Pitiless, still
chained to the ground,
its movement patterns that
of a serpent; guileless; guided.

Our own growing pains
mark writhing & pleading,
mark entrance & exits;
a flower shaking for the sky.

But never discount
the voracity of youth -
viscous as phlegm,
sticking to the throats of animals.
